Elk Grove Village

Contact: Dave Simmons   <--Send email
Distance: 10 mi.
Notes: FCEG has organized a Ride of Silence in memory of Rose Waters, Al Hattendorf, Jose Nelson Cobian and all others that have been injured or killed while cycling. There is no fee to participate in this event. This event will begin and end at the Al Hattendorf Center (225 E Elk Grove Blvd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007). Enter the parking lot off Elk Grove Blvd.

We will ride in silent procession at approximately 10mph
We'll be following the Rules of the Road (stopping at stop lights and at stop signs when cross traffic is present).
The RoS is recommended for ages 10 and up as we need to keep the group together for maximum visibility.
We'll be riding no more than 2-up to allow motorists space to safely pass the group.
Lights will add to the effect, so if you have bike lights, plan on using them during the ride.

Schedule
6:15pm – 6:30pm: Waivers and bike checks
6:30pm – 6:40pm: RoS proclamation and safety
6:40pm – 8:00pm: Ride of Silence (10 miles)
8:00pm – 8:30pm: Clean up
